Bienvenidos a la clase de español
Welcome to a new year in Spanish class. I’m Señorita Ortega and I look forward to a very fulfilling school year. As we get ready to expand our communication in Spanish, I want you to be aware of a few details that will be important for each student to know about this class:
Interpretive, interpersonal and presentational are all modes of communication that will be the basis of our learning during the course of the year. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities will be used to develop these modes.
Each student’s grade will reflect his or her performance. The grade will be weighted as follows:
15% Class participation/ Projects
Preparation for class is extremely important! Each student needs to come prepared with a binder (1 ½” to 2”), a writing utensil, 1 dry erase marker, pen, pencil and the school issued agenda. Each binder should be divided into the following sections:
-Apuntes: (Notes: this section will be for written notes and study guides)
-Hagan ahora (“Do now” warm-up activities)
Homework will always be checked. Coming prepared to class includes having homework on the day it is due. Late homework will be accepted only for half credit with teacher approval.
